The highlights of the second day of UNCTAD 15 included a ceremonial in-person passing of the baton to the new President (Barbados Prime Minister) of UNCTAD by the outgoing President (Republic of Kenya’s President); two high-level dialogues and; the signing of a contract between the UNCTAD Secretary-General and the Barbados’ Minister of Energy, Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

Passing the baton

President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta passed the baton of the Presidency of UNCTAD to the Prime Minister of Barbados, the Honourable Mia Amor Mottley, during a brief ceremony.

Both President Kenyatta and Prime Minister Mottley spoke briefly.
